Góngora began long before it was called Góngora.
History and Family
The winery had been making wine for almost two centuries when, in 1825, the Góngora family arrived here and joined their name to that of the house.
Since then, each generation has left something of its own: wines that were carefully nurtured, crafts that remained alive, and new ways of moving forward without erasing the traces of those who came before.
The Winery
Among centuries-old casks, soleras and criaderas, Góngora preserves a way of making wine that is still very much alive. Wine is drawn with a venencia, casks are racked, and time is allowed to do its work. Young wines meet much older ones, while traditional crafts continue to be passed from one pair of hands to the next.
In the lagar, the world’s oldest active wine press comes to life again during the harvest. A wooden heart that reminds us that, here, tradition has never meant standing still.

At the heart of the winery, the Góngora family opens the doors of their home to share another way of experiencing this place.
Its walls and courtyards preserve the memory of those who lived here before. Today, Casa Góngora opens them to an intimate, warm and contemporary form of hospitality, under the Relais and Châteaux seal.
